William Ahmad Dobbs
As CST’s DEI Projects Intern, William conducts research for clients, produces collaborative video and graphics, and researches projects. A rising senior studying public policy, political science, and economics at the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy at the University of Michigan, he serves as an elected representative in the school’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Coalition, where he has helped develop long-term plans for mitigating structural racism in the school’s hiring practices and coursework. He has also supported students over the past two years as a Diversity Peer Educator (DPE) in the Residence Halls, where he works on issues related to social justice, economic inequality, and discrimination.
Outside of academia, William has experience interning in both the legal and nonprofit sectors, with recent work in the field of international humanitarian development. His skills across these fields have developed with a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion. William is a member of and an activist in the Arab American/Muslim American community.
